The Ukrainian Cyber Alliance has been active since 2016, the Pro-Ukraine group has targeted Russian entities since the invasion of Ukraine. The group published a series of screenshots as proof of the security breach. The images include the consoles of the Veeam backup and Hewlett Packard Enterprise server. The Russian ISP Nodex confirmed the attack on its infrastructure and speculated the involvement of Russia-linked threat actors. “Dear subscribers! There was a planned attack on the network infrastructure at night (presumably from Ukraine). The network has been destroyed. We are raising it from backup copies. There are no deadlines or forecasts. First, we will raise the telephony and call center.” reads a message published by the Russian ISP on VKontakte. Internet monitoring service NetBlocks confirmed a disruption in Nodex’s connectivity following the attack on Tuesday night.
